Endurance swimmer Diana Nyad made it from Havana to Key West last week – on her fifth try. The 64-year-old set the world record for open water swimming, unassisted. 110 miles in 53 hours without a shark cage.

Other marathon swimmers had been wondering if she picked up speed by holding onto a boat at some point.

Nyad held a conference call with some of the swimmers this week – and insisted she did not. Alicia Zuckerman spoke with Diana Nyad a few days after she made it to shore in Key West.
