Composer, performer, author and inventor of the Mutantrumpet, Ben Neill, has written a new book titled “Diffusing Music: Trajectories of Sonic Democratization,” which explores how AI and other technology is transforming how we create and experience sound. He joins us ahead of his concert event, March 27 at the Bob Rauschenberg Gallery at Florida Southwestern State College.

The Gulf Coast Symphony’s upcoming 30th anniversary concert celebration will include the premiere performance of a symphonic piece titled, “Seas of Glass,” from local composer Frazar Henry. The 19-year-old composer and multi-instrumentalist was commissioned by the symphony’s maestro to write the piece. Frazar has been composing music since he was just five years old. Ahead of the March 30th concert, Henry joins the show to talk about the composition and his extraordinary musical journey so far.

After 12 years with the Southwest Florida Symphony, current CEO Amy Ginsburg has decided to leave the position effective June 30 to spend more time with her family as well as pursue other opportunities.The symphony, Lee County’s only fully professional orchestra and the fourth oldest in the state, announced the departure Monday.

On Dec. 3, FGCU’s Bower School of Music & the Arts performed its annual Christmas extravaganza, “Joyful & Triumphant,” at Moorings Presbyterian Church in Naples. FGCU students Sebastian Plymette and Mia Laboy Reyes performed in the concert as part of the Chamber Choir and share about their experiences.

Players Circle Theater is hosting a production of a new one-man musical drama titled “A Man of the Decade: An Evening with John Lennon.” Ahead of opening night, July 12, we talk with actor, playwright and musician Randy Noojin, who wrote and stars in the show, along with Players Circle Theater co-founder and artistic director Bob Cacioppo.

The Musical Swings at the Naples Botanical Garden play notes from four different instruments as visitors swing. When the swings move in unison, they create a musical composition. The installation, originally slated to end April 20 has been extended until May 27.
