At least once a year, Players Circle Theater Artistic Director Bob Cacioppo like to produce a hip new play that's the talk of New York. So, he's heralding in the new year with “Admissions,” a family drama that places diversity and minority preferences front and center. With a story about white entitlement and guilt that's ripped from today's headline, the play is the latest offering by “Bad Jews” playwright Joshua Harmon, who Cacioppo calls the next Arthur Miller.

Players Circle Theater is currently presenting the suspense murder comedy “Murder at the Howard Johnson’s.” The plot follows a series of hilarious murder plots and a messy love triangle between a dentist (played by Steve Coe), his lover (played by Angela Watson), and her husband (played by actor/comedian RC Smith). We’ll learn all about the show and hear from the actors bringing this production to life as well as the show’s director and Players Circle Theater founding Artistic Director Bob Cacioppo.

This year, the theme of National Women’s History Month is women providing healing, promoting health. Sometimes this occurs within the context of helping survivors end abusive relationships and forge a new life. And that’s the subject of a play opening at The Naples Players on March 30th which WGCU Reporter Tom Hall calls the most consequential show to be produced anywhere in Southwest Florida this theater season.
