Robert Taylor has been promoted to Chief of the Lee County Port Authority Airport Police Department. As chief, Taylor is responsible for public safety and security at Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) and Page Field (FMY) in Fort Myers, including the enforcement of laws and security regulations; traffic operations; airport security compliance and support; and the overall leadership and administration of airport law enforcement functions.

More than a million passengers traveled through Southwest Florida International Airport in December — the best such month in the airport's 41-year history.The 1,094,783 total in passengers was an increase of 27 percent compared to December 2022. The airport, also known by it's FAA designation of RSW, finished 2023 with 10,069,839 passengers, a 2.6 percent decrease compared to 2022.

Southwest Florida International Airport remote, reserved parking option will be available Dec. 20-24Southwest Florida International Airport will offer passengers a remote and reserved parking option from Wednesday, Dec. 20, through Sunday, Dec. 24, 2023, with vehicles permitted to exit from Christmas Day through Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024. The RSWRemote parking lot is on the north side of the airport property. The cost will be a flat $40 fee, no matter how many days are selected to park and is non-refundable.

Southwest Florida International Airport in Fort Myers reported the second-best October in the 41-year history of the airport.During October, nearly three-quarter of a million passengers traveled through the airport. This was a significant increase of 70 percent when compared to the post-Hurricane Ian passenger decreases in October 2022.
