The explosion of the giant rocket was not seen as a negative by SpaceX officials since this was considered a developmental flight.

“Right now, there’s nothing preventing us” from attempting a launch on Wednesday, said NASA’s Jim Free, an associate administrator.

NASA is on course for a possible launch attempt Tuesday, provided the U.S. Space Force extends the certification of batteries on board that are part of the flight safety system.

During a press conference on Thursday, space agency officials said they were eyeing Sept. 23 or Sept. 27 as possible dates for the launch.

Monday's scheduled launched was scrubbed due to engine problems.
