A precautionary boil water notice has been lifted for the 312 addresses affected by a water line break in the vicinity of McGregor Boulevard and San Roberto Circle.A boil water alert was issued for that area after an outside contractor hit a 6” water line at about 3 p.m. Thursday. City officials said the leak was small, but the isolation process required impacted several neighborhoods in the vicinity of the break.

A water main break at McGregor Boulevard and San Roberto Circle affected 312 addresses in that area, Fort Myers utility officials said Thursday. The break was repaired late Thursday night.

Contractors for the City of Fort Myers will be conducting sanitary sewer evaluation smoke tests Monday, May 20 through Friday, May 24.The goal of the comprehensive Sanitary Sewer Evaluation Survey is to reduce the amount groundwater and storm water from entering the system, reducing the risk of sanitary sewer overflows, and improving overall system reliability.

State regulators Tuesday approved a plan that will trim Florida Power & Light customers’ monthly bills because of lower-than-expected natural gas costs, while Duke Energy Florida and Tampa Electric Co. said they will seek similar reductions.Meanwhile, Duke and Tampa Electric separately filed proposals that would increase base electric rates from 2025 to 2027. The proposals will kickstart complicated months-long processes that will include the Florida Public Service Commission and representatives of consumers and business customers examining the details.

Pointing to lower-than-expected costs of natural gas, Florida Power & Light on Wednesday asked state regulators to approve a proposal that would reduce customer bills in May.If approved by the Florida Public Service Commission, the reduction would come after FPL customers also will see bills trimmed in April because of the end of charges stemming from storm-related costs.
