A non-profit research center in Fort Myers is joining the rapidly developing field of genetic research. The Clinical & Translational Genome Research Institute opened this month at Florida Gulf Coast University’s newly completed Emergent Technologies Institute.  

Too many preschoolers with ADHD still are being put on drugs right away, before behavior therapy is tried, health officials say.

The Coalition for a Drug-Free southwest Florida holds its annual Conference on Addictive Disorders on Thursday, June 6 starting at 8:00 a.m. at the Lee County School District Building in Fort Myers. The topic is “The Child with ADHD”.  We’ll hear from one of the speakers, Fort Myers Psychologist Dr. Christina Hansen, about the latest traditional and non-traditional treatments.
