Miami-Dade County Elections Results Finally In

The Miami-Dade absentee ballots have all been counted. And the county turned out for Barak Obama in a big way.

The final results are 62% for the President and 38 percent for Mitt Romney. And now the attention turns to what took so long and how to prevent a repeat performance.

Vote Count Continues in Florida

The state of Florida has yet to be called in this year's presidential election, and it's all because of what has happened in the state's largest county, Miami Dade, which has yet to finish counting the vote after many voters waited in line for hours to cast their ballots.

Miami Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez says he plans to call on Governor Scott to extend early voting and make more sites available for it. 

Nine Counties Still Counting Ballots

The election remains undecided in Florida two days after Election Day. Absentee ballots are still being tallied in 9 counties including Miami Dade.

Now Miami Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez is speaking out about all of the problems surrounding the election.

He says he plans to call on Governor Scott to make changes because something has to be done about the long lines to vote. 

Should Lawmakers Reconsider Early Voting Laws?

Florida will be remembered nationally this election – not for hanging chads but for its long and winding voter lines. There was no escaping video of Florida voters in lines wrapped around polling places on Election Day and during some early voting days.

But will lawmakers revisit laws that shortened early voting days?

It’s not a high priority for State Senator-elect Tom Lee – a Brandon Republican and former senate president.
