A mandatory evacuation is in effect for mobile and manufactured homes in Lee County due to Hurricane Irma.
It didn't seem like anyone was sticking around the Covered Wagon RV and Trailer Park in Estero on Friday morning. The mandatory evacuation went into effect at 9 a.m.
Axel Jose Antonio is six-years-old. His mom and sister were lugging around a jug of water in a red wagon. He held a Spider-Man action figure and a stuffed animal he calls Dury.
“I’m not staying here," said Antonio. " I’m just going to go to somewhere else with just my mom, sister and brother."
Daniel Zuniga’s family is packing up to leave for a shelter. He says he’s experienced hurricanes in Mexico. And he said he’s a little scared.
"Because I've never been in a storm in Florida," said Zuniga.
A lot of residents weren’t evacuating too far. Just staying with family on what they hope is a sturdier foundation.
