Ave Maria Students Rode Out Irma While Helping Others

Florida’s U.S. Senators Democrat Bill Nelson and Republican Marco Rubio have been traveling Florida this week to survey damage left in the wake of Hurricane Irma.  The senators’ visit to Ave Maria University in eastern Collier County Wednesday served as a bright spot on their tour.  They sat down with a group of college students who bravely and selflessly choose to ride out the Hurricane helping residents of the nearby farmworker town of Immokalee.  WGCU’s John Davis was there and brings us the students’ stories in their own words.
