Arts in Healthcare

Rose McGahee

Over the past two decades the body of research demonstrating the impact of arts in healthcare has grown significantly. As arts programs in hospitals and other healthcare settings grow more prevalent, we’ll take a closer look at the Arts in Healthcare program at Lee Memorial Health System, which has helped coordinate an upcoming exhibition at the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center in Fort Myers. The exhibit is called “Unlimited: The Artistry of People with Special Abilities,” and it highlights the works of artists overcoming a variety of disabilities. It runs July 4 – 25.

Guests:

Doug MacGregor, Arts in HealthCare Coordinator, Lee Memorial Health System

Jill Sonke, Center for Arts in Medicine at the University of Florida, Director
