“River and Road: Fort Myers Architecture from Craftsman to Modern”

The historic neighborhoods that line McGregor Boulevard are filled with architectural beauty and stories of days past, inviting passers-by to admire and wonder. Who built these beautiful homes?  Who lived here over the years?  And what do they look like inside.

Jared Beck

A new book called, “River and Road: Fort Myers Architecture from Craftsman to Modern” takes a trip behind closed doors and into the past of these homes. Through interviews with current owners we learn about valiant restorations efforts and stunning art collections within the walls of some of the city’s stories houses. Exhaustive research tell not only the story of who build them, but the circumstances that drew people to Fort Myers, and how these homes changed hands through the decades.

Pamela Miner

Today on Gulf Coast Live we talk with Jared Beck and Pamela Miner, the two authors of “River and Road,” about what inspired them to create this gift to the city, and what homes and stories stood out.
