A 13-year-old student is accused of making a hoax call about a school shooting at a Florida middle school.

The teen was arrested Monday on charges of reporting a false threat, which is a second-degree felony. The student also faces discipline from the Palm Beach County school district.

The teen's call about a shooting a Loggers' Run Middle School in Boca Raton drew a large police presence on Friday. Police determined there was no validity to the call after a short lockdown.

A school district news release didn't provide additional details about the student.

School officials say all threats will be taken seriously and the urge parents to speak to their children about the serious consequences of making a threat.
