Trump administration officials are exempting oil and gas drilling in the Gulf of Mexico from the Endangered Species Act. The exemption was requested by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, who cited lawsuits from environmental groups as a threat to the nation's energy production. Critics say Tuesday's move could doom Gulf populations of endangered Rice's whales. It comes amid global oil shocks and soaring energy prices brought on by the U.S.-Iran war. The Gulf of Mexico is one of the top oil-producing regions in the U.S. Republican President Donald Trump has made increased fossil fuel production a central focus of his second term.
In 2019 married couple John and Kelley Doran fed the homeless at 3 a.m. from their hot dog truck in Bradenton. Since then, their passion for helping those in need has turned into a nonprofit organization called Hands & Feet Outreach Ministry in Port Charlotte with their efforts changing many lives.
Since the dawn of human civilization, men were assigned the role of hunting, and women were assigned the role of gathering. More and more, women are challenging those traditional gender roles. Hard hats, steel-toe boots and leadership positions are no longer reserved for men, as women increasingly take their claim in male-dominated fields.
