Singer/Songwriter Katie Lyon Drops New EP

Courtesy of Katie Lyon

Singer/songwriter and Southwest Florida native Katie Lyon is releasing a new EP of original music amid the COVID-19 pandemic titled, “Some Things Take Time.” The five-song EP drops July 21, but is available for preorder. Lyon describes her sound as “the easy listening side of country,” with influences includes Brandi Carlile, Miranda Lambert, George Strait and Jason Isbell.

We’ll talk with Lyon about her background in music and her approach to songwriting as we listen to songs from the new EP. Lyon currently resides in Chattanooga, TN, but she recorded the EP at Juniper Recording in Cape Coral and plans to return to Southwest Florida for a performance at the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center, July 24, along with fellow singer/songwriters Sheena Brook and Claire Liparulo.
