Dept. of Health Officials in Collier County Say COVID-19 Deaths Will Not be Updated On State Website

The state's COVID dashboard as it has appeared throughout the pandemic.

The Florida Department of Health announced Wednesday that it will be conducting a “thorough review” of COVID-19 deaths reported in the state.

Representatives of the Department of Health in Collier County said the state's COVID-19 dashboard will not reflect new fatalities until the review is complete.

"The state COVID -19 website will not be updated as far as deaths are concerned and we don’t know how long this will take," Mark Lemke of DOH-Collier said.

Lemke said new coronavirus cases will continue to be reported on the Health Department's website daily.

"This review will not affect testing or contacting clients with their test results," Lemke said.

Florida’s Surgeon General Scott Rivkees announced the review of deaths after claiming to find inconsistencies among reported COVID-19 fatalities.
