Florida Gulf Coast University is preparing for its 10th annual Children and Youth Mental Health Conference.
The conference is hosted by the university’s College of Education. Director of Clinical Experiences and Partnerships Dr. Diane Kratt said the conference aims to bring parents, educators and mental health professionals together.
"We want everyone to be there together to just communicate and collaborate and share ideas and connect with one another and just try to strengthen the support in our community regarding children’s mental health," Kratt said.
Kratt said a big focus this year will be on children’s mental health during the pandemic.
"What we hope to do is to provide some knowledge, information and practices that are relevant to what they’re dealing with today and that can be helpful for them right now in their lives," Kratt said.
The Children and Youth Mental Health Conference will be held virtually on Saturday November 14 from 8:30 in the morning until 3:30 in the afternoon. It is free and open to the public.
