The Publix COVID-19 vaccine appointment system booked more than 48,900 appointments in less than two hours and 30 minutes this morning, Maria Brous of Publix said in an email.

The number of doses the company receives from the state varies for each session.

The sessions typically open at 6 AM, and Brous went on to say that it does not help customers to get online before that time. There is no preferred internet browser to use, and Publix does not recommend refreshing the page manually, as it refreshes every minute automatically. If room becomes available, the page will refresh and instructions will appear at the top, guiding you to scroll down to “Book an Appointment.”

The next availability for appointments will be Wednesday, January 27, at 6 AM, at publix.com/vaccine.
