Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried says she won't follow the Governor’s directive to lower flags to half-staff on the day of Rush Limbaugh’s funeral. Fried points to the flag protocol from the Executive Office of the Governor and says Limbaugh doesn’t fit the bill.

“You know it’s supposed to be for heroes and public servants, and for Pulse and the Parkland shooting victims, not a political ally," said Fried.

Fried says the conservative talk radio personality espoused hate speech, bigotry, and division. She says lowering the flag should reflect unity. Fried says flags will fly high at the nine regional licensing offices, 38 state forests, and 23 agricultural law enforcement inspection stations she oversees.

DeSantis announced Friday that he plans to order flags to be lowered in Limbaugh’s honor.
