A Florida measure that would allow the use of medical marijuana has cleared its final hurdle and will be on the November ballot. Orlando Attorney John Morgan says the money he spent financing the campaign was because of his brother, who is a quadriplegic.
"His pain is unbelievable" said Morgan. "At one point, they had him on seven Xanax to control his spasms and pain. But marijuana alleviates the pain, takes care of the spasms, and so in the back of mind, as I've gone through this whole deal, I keep thinking, my brother Tim."
Morgan spent about $4 million on the signature gathering campaign. The Florida Supreme Court approved the ballot language Monday.
