Lacy Crawford, Notes on a Silencing

Note to listeners: This episode contains discussion of rape and sexual violence.

Lacy Crawford was sexually assaulted at the elite St. Paul's School in New Hampshire when she was 15 years old. Neither she nor the school wanted to talk about it at the time. But in recent years, there have been extensive reports of sexual abuse on campus. That fact caused Crawford to go back and write Notes on a Silencing: an excellent, deep investigation into the systems at work at the school that exploited privilege, power, and gender, leaving many students deeply damaged.
