Parts of I-75 shut due to rising Myakka River reopened Saturday
Due to the rising Myakka River, I-75 was shut down in both directions Friday night from mile marker 179 (North Port / Toledo Blade Blvd) to mile marker 191 (Englewood / Jacaranda Blvd). The road reopened Saturday afternoon.
DeSantis: Sanibel Causeway will have access by end of October
A notice issued from the city of Sanibel quoted a memo from the office of Gov. Ron DeSantis: "It is anticipated to have the Sanibel Causeway accessible by the end of October. Once immediate recovery efforts have subsided, permanent long-term repairs will be made to the causeway."
