Catholic-Jewish Dialogue of Collier County to hold annual Kristallnacht Commemoration
This Sunday, Nov. 5 the group is holding its annual Kristallnacht Commemoration. Kristallnacht was a violent and coordinated anti-Semitic attack in Nazi Germany and Austria in November of 1938. It’s considered a precursor to the Holocaust. It will feature a talk titled “Theologies of the Other: Catholics and Jews After the Holocaust” from Rabbi David Maayan. We talk with him an a member of the Catholic-Jewish Dialogue of Collier County.

Les Stroud is a Canadian survival expert, filmmaker, author, and musician - best known as the creator of the TV series Survivorman. Stroud joins Gulf Coast Life to talk about the transition he’s found himself in, the projects he’s focusing on now, and the role music and songwriting have always played in his life.

When we do something — when we think we’ve made a decision about how to act or behave — are we always consciously aware of why we made that particular decision? That is just one part of the field of research our guest today has spent the past three decades investigating. Dr. Sandra Schneider is a Professor in Cognition, Neuroscience, and Social Psychology in the Department of Psychology at the University of South Florida in Tampa. And she founded the USF Judgment and Decision Making Lab in the early 90s.

Immokalee Foundation provides pathways to success for students
We learn about the Immokalee Foundatin's Mentor Program, which pairs volunteer mentors with students whose interests align with their expertise. The nonprofit has been supporting and educating students in the small, rural, mostly agricultural community about 25 miles east of Naples since 1991.

Several appointments of Southwest Florida positions were made by the governor's office Friday.Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of Michael Poff, Gregory Scasny, and Sallie Seabury to the Fort Myers Beach Public Library District, Neil Rainford to the Sarasota County Board of County Commissioners and Cathy Rodriguez to the Hendry County Hospital Authority Board of Directors.
Four arrested in break-up of wide-ranging construction theft ring
Four people including a Naples man have been arrested in connection with a theft ring that spanned 14 counties from the Miami area, where it was based, to Lee and Collier counties.
