Plane in Upper Captiva take-off crash had been inspected, repaired days before
A Cessna airplane that crashed on take-off from the Salty Approach Air Strip on Upper Captiva on March 21 was inspected, repaired and tested 10 days prior to the crash, the preliminary National Transportation Safety Board aviation investigation report says.

The U.S. Food & Drug Administration is recommending consumers who purchased certain lots of Great Value raw frozen shrimp sold at Walmart stores in 13 states, including Florida, not eat or serve the product and instead throw it away. At issue is possible radioactive contamination of the shrimp due to the containers used.The FDA is actively investigating reports of Cesium-137 (Cs-137) contamination in shipping containers and frozen shrimp products processed by PT. Bahari Makmur Sejati (doing business as BMS Foods) of Indonesia.

Ready-to-eat chicken sausage products recalled due to possible foreign matter contamination
Kayem Foods is recalling approximately 24,173 pounds of ready-to-eat chicken sausage products that may be contaminated with foreign material, specifically pieces of plastic, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.The fully cooked chicken sausage item was produced by the Chelsea, Mass., establishment, on June 28, 2025.
