New Round of Insurgent Violence Strikes in Iraq
Iraqi insurgents stir deadly trouble for a third straight day. At least two bombs exploded in Baghdad Friday, killing at least one person. Twin car bombs killed 18 people Thursday, following less damaging blasts on Wednesday. New York Times reporter Robert Worth details the latest developments.

Suicide Attack South of Baghdad Kills More Than 100
In the deadliest single attack since the fall of Saddam Hussein, a car bomb kills at least 115 people and wounds more than 130. The suicide bomber struck as prospective members of the country's police and national guard lined up for physical exams in the city of Hilla, south of Baghdad.
