Bus Exhaust Pits Health Worries and Cost Concerns
Exhaust from school buses can be harmful to students' health. Old diesel buses generate fumes that can trigger asthma attacks and other harmful health conditions. In Texas, environmentalists want the state to help pay for new low-exhaust equipment for the state's buses. It costs as much as $7,000 per bus, and school districts say they don't have the money.

Fed orders another super-sized interest rate hike as it battles stubborn inflation
The Federal Reserve raised interest rates by another 0.75 percentage points today, as it tries to control runaway prices. The central bank also signaled that additional rate hikes are likely.

NASA won't try to launch the Artemis 1 moon mission again for at least a few weeks
A recurring leak of liquid hydrogen fuel forced NASA on Saturday to postpone a scheduled launch for the second time this week. The earliest possible launch date is Sept. 19.
An LAPD officer who was killed in a training exercise was targeted, a lawyer alleges
"They used that training as a cover to kill him in retaliation for his whistleblowing activity," attorney Bradley Gage told NPR. Officer Houston, who died in May, was investigating an alleged rape.

Residents say the phrase "Who Dat" is part and parcel of New Orleans culture. The chant opens Saints football games, and "Who Dat" can now be found on T-shirts and storefronts throughout the city. But a Texas company says it owns the ubiquitous phrase — and recently filed a lawsuit to stake its claim.
