Islamist militants attacked a military checkpoint on the Sinai Peninsula Sunday, killing at least 15 Egyptian forces. The gunmen then commandeered two armored vehicles and tried to storm through a checkpoint into the Gaza Strip. One vehicle exploded, and the Israeli military destroyed the other.
