Residents provide input on water reclamation facility in fast-growing Southeast Lee County
Lee County hosted a public meeting Jan. 31 to get input on a facility that will provide the county with six million gallons of water per day, with the capacity to increase to more than 10 million gallons a day. The Southeast Advanced Water Reclamation Facility (SEAWRF) Project is in the planning phase and is proposed to be constructed at 14201 Alico Road.

Investors have built model homes and say they're close to selling places in Glades County, on the northwest side of Lake Okeechobee. And they're marketing heavily to Orthodox Jews looking for affordable homes. Lakefront Estates is planned for up to 1,000 single-family homes and 300 rental units.
