Lee County Public Safety expands availability of AED technology to outdoor Parks & Recreation sites
Lee County is expanding the availability or lifesaving Automated Electronic Defibrillators (AEDs) with additional units to be placed outdoors in five Parks & Recreation locations. The new units mean Lee County will have deployed a total of 258 AEDs across several different county locations including parks and recreation sites, libraries, county administration offices, solid waste facilities, water treatment plants, baseball fields and more.

Lee County approves pact with Fort Myers Beach to restore, nourish Estero Island beach
Lee County's Board of County Commissioners approved an agreement Tuesday for the restoration and nourishment of more than 5 miles of Estero Island beach. The county's portion of the interlocal agreement with the Town of Fort Myers Beach is based on a percentage not to exceed $9.2 million, funded through tourist development tax.
