Automakers: Gas-Smart Cars Could Hurt Sales
U.S. automakers say the types of vehicles that will get more miles per gallon of gas have features that consumers tend to shun, including four-cylinder engines and stick shifts. The Senate is set to debate new energy legislation, and a major issue is how much to raise fuel economy standards for cars and trucks in order to fight climate change.

Saildrone gets contract to survey part of Florida’s coastal waters
Saldrone's award is part of a federal and state initiative to support infrastructure, habitat mapping, restoration projects, resource management, emergency response, and coastal resiliency and hazard studies. At 2,170 kilometers long, Florida’s coastline is second only to Alaska among U.S. states. Many parts of the Florida coast remain not surveyed, with existing nautical charts relying on outdated and low-resolution data.
