Report: Moonlighting ex-Collier official lobbied for county vendor in 'apparent' conflict of interest
A new report by the Collier County Office of the Inspector General reveals that one of former Collier County Deputy Manager Sean Callahan undisclosed lobbyist clients, Jacobs Solutions, is a long-time vendor for Collier County. Callahan was quietly fired in January of 2022 after county staff discovered he was secretly working as a lobbyist for a powerful Washington D.C. lobbying firm — a moonlighting job that violated county policies, ethical guidelines, and anti-fraud measures.

An investigation by the Florida Elections Commission found that Collier County Commissioner Chris Hall violated the state's election code during his campaign last year. Hall’s campaign ads falsely implied he was the incumbent in the District 2 race rather than a challenger, according to an FEC consent order drafted in May.
Free traps offered in Collier County to fight mosquitoes brought by rain-making hurricanes
The Collier Mosquito Control District received the residential traps as a donation from Gainesville company Inzecto and is working with community partners to distribute them to the public.
