A lack of fast chargers for road trips is a major deterrent for would-be electric vehicle purchasers. In response, big automakers are following Tesla's playbook — and teaming up in an unusual way.

Toyota's V-2-V Technology Would Allow Cars To Talk To Each Other On The Highway
As much as fully autonomous vehicles are in the news, none of us will be commuting to work in a self-driving car for at least two decades. Meanwhile, Toyota says it will use technology, called V-2-V, in all its cars within a few years with claims it will save thousands of lives each year — as cars talk to each other on the highway.

COVID-19 Morning Report
State health officials reported 1,736 new COVID-19 cases, Monday, bringing Florida's total to 665,730 cases. The Florida Department of Health also reported 34 new coronavirus-related deaths, Sept. 14, increasing the statewide death toll to 12,800 fatalities.Of the 4,948,075 COVID-19 tests that have been performed in Florida so far, the overall positivity rate has fallen slightly to 13.45%, but the single-day positivity rate for Monday stands at 3.8%.

Dunbar High School places third statewide in FPL/NASCAR-supported EV race
Zipping around the Daytona International Speedway, an EV racer piloted by a student from Dunbar High School managed a second place finish, allowing the Lee County high school team a third-place overall in the FPL Electrathon Speedway Series.The FPL Electrathon Speedway Series is a year-long student EV go-kart racing competition that wrapped up at Daytona Tuesday.
