Early voting for Florida’s Aug. 23 Primary Election begins next week. Dates, times, and locations to cast a ballot early in-person vary depending on where voters are registered. For example, the early voting window begins Monday, Aug. 8, for registered voters in Charlotte and Hendry Counties, but early voting in Collier, Glades, Lee, Manatee, and Sarasota Counties doesn’t begin until Saturday, Aug. 13. Hurricane Debby washed ashore $1 million worth of cocaine onto Florida beaches
The packages, which were discovered along two beaches in Florida, are reported to have weighed over 100 pounds in total with an estimated street value of over $1 million, authorities said.
Naples woman faces DUI manslaughter charges after fatal wrong-way crash on I-75; Freeway reopens after nearly 8-hour closure
Interstate 75 southbound reopened shortly before noon Wednesday after law enforcement officials said a wrong-way driver caused a fatal crash along a Collier County segment of the freeway. The Florida Highway Patrol said DUI manslaughter charges have been filed against the driver, a 24-year-old women from Naples. She was traveling northbound on the southbound side of 75 when she hit two other vehicles head-on at mile marker 110 shortly after 4 a.m.
Search for four men boating off Venice suspended Monday night
U.S. Coast Guard St. Petersburg is seeking information on a missing boat with four male occupants.A search for the men had been expanded into Lee and Collier county waters of the Gulf of Mexico on Monday. Coast Guard suspended the search late Monday.
