House of cans gives homebuilder a way to help SWFL relieve hunger
GL Homes conducted building of an unusual kind Monday — and ended up helping relieve hunger.The mission was for two teams combined from GL Homes communities in Lee and Collier counties to go can-to-can in the annual GL Homes CAN-tastic Competition.

Tornadoes strike Southwest Florida Sunday as cold front moves across the state
Lee County officials estimate about $1.1 million dollars in damages with more than one hundred mobile homes damaged and some 30 mobile homes destroyed. This was just one of a number of tornadoes that touched down across Southwest Florida on Sunday as a massive cold front moved across the state.

Naples' Turkey Drop in 19th year and the food need remains great
Pumpkin pies, turkeys, eggs, bread and vegetables — ingredients for a great holiday meal — were distributed in Collier County recently by dozens of volunteers like Kayla Ballard and Ava Adams, both First Baptist Academy students — “serving others, serves God,” Kayla said.The distribution was part of the 19th year for the Capital Wealth Advisors Turkey Drop Event and was made possible this year from Capital Wealth Advisors partnering with St. Matthew’s House in Naples to collect and pass out thousands of Thanksgiving meals.
Early Voting Locations in SWFL
Early voting for the Nov. 3 general election can begin as early as Oct. 19 in Florida. WGCU made a list of early voting locations throughout Southwest Florida.
Despite deluge, Southwest Florida's drought continues
Showers and thunderstorms swept across Lee and Collier counties, with four or more inches of rain. Other areas didn’t get enough rain to do much more than dampen the landscape. Southwest Florida’s drought is not yet over.

COVID-19 Morning Report
State health officials reported 5,807 new COVID-19 cases, Wednesday, for a total of 762,533 cases. The Florida Department of Health also reported 105 new coronavirus-related deaths, Oct. 21, increasing the statewide death toll to 16,413 fatalities.

State health officials report that Florida's overall number of coronavirus cases topped the 300,000-case threshold, Wednesday. Aside from Florida, only New York and California have reported more than 300,000 COVID-19 cases.Florida reached milestone in cases just ten days after crossing the 200,000-case threshold. There were 10,181 new cases of the virus reported, July 15, for a total of 301,810 cases.
