Chair of Collier housing advisory group removed after publicly citing inaction by county commissioners
In January, the Collier County Affordable Housing Advisory Committee unanimously re-elected Joseph Trachtenberg as its chairman. This week, the Collier County Board of County Commissioners unanimously removed him. Trachtenberg said his removal was because he spoke up publicly about inaction by the commissioners. A commissioner seemed to agree that his public comments were the issue.
Sixteenth panther reported killed; sixth victim in Hendry County; Collier leads state with seven
The Florida Wildlife Commission is reporting the death of a 5–6-year-old, male Florida panther whose remains were collected Wednesday in Hendry County. The FWC said the suspected cause of death is by vehicle collision.

Projects to relieve I-75 and other highway congestion areas in Lee, Collier counties get timelines
Local Moving Florida Forward program project timelines were released during a media briefing by Lt. Governor Jeanette Nunez in Fort Myers on Monday. The projects entail more than $700 million in investments for Lee and Collier counties, including expected construction timelines for: I-75 at Pine Ridge Road, I-75 from Golden Gate Parkway to Corkscrew Road, State Road 29 from County Road 846 East to New Market Road, and State Road 29 from New Market Road to State Road 82.
