Lee County scheduled to begin Treeline Avenue intersection improvements
Peliminary work will start Monday for improvements to the intersection of Treeline Avenue and Daniels Parkway in Fort Myers, from Jetport Loop to Heartwood Boulevard.
Application workshops slated for Lee County School District jobs
A number of Application Assistance Workshops will be held at one of the computer labs at the Lee County Public Education Center, 2855 Colonial Blvd., on January 9, 11, 20, 23, 25 and 26.
Decades-old Hendry County-based desegregation case concludes
A federal judge last week approved ending a Hendry County school-desegregation lawsuit that started in 1970, after the U.S. Department of Justice and the district agreed that “vestiges of the prior de jure segregation” had been eliminated.

Conditions for a burn ban have been met; Lee County will continue to monitor conditions.
Mental health first aid trainings planned for Lee County
The Florida Department of Health in Lee County is offering monthly mental health first aid trainings for the rest of 2025. Sessions will teach participants to recognize warning signs that someone is in a mental health crisis or struggling with substance abuse, provide support in crisis and non-crisis situations and connect others with mental health resources.
