Collaborative wildlife rescue helps injured bobcat heal, return home
A young bobcat found injured in Bonita Springs is now back in the wild after a successful rescue and rehabilitation effort by the Conservancy of Southwest Florida, supportive community members, and key wildlife and veterinary partners.

Combined Southeastern states effort targets highway speeding; slowing down, calmness urged
The Florida Highway Patrol, the Florida Department of Transportation, and other Southwest Florida law enforcement agencies, talked about their involvement Monday in “Operation Southern Slow Down,” a week-long speed enforcement awareness campaign with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the southeastern states of Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

Lee Commissioners OK removing fluoride from Lee drinking water
The Lee County Board of Commissioners Tuesday voted unanimously to remove fluoride from Lee County water. Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo came to the meeting to speak strongly in favor of removing fluoride. Ladapo has issued statewide guidance to remove fluoride from water. He has also gone on the record to oppose Covid-19 vaccinations.

Ninety-six SWFL schools get $13M via School Recognition Program
The funds, more than $200 million through the School Recognition Program, will go to 1,400 schools across the state that demonstrated student growth and teaching excellence in the 2021-22 school year.
