Final NTSB report on 2024 jet crash on I-75 in Naples shows engine corrosion was main issue
The final report by the National Transportation Safety Board on Flight 823, which crashed during an emergency landing on I-75 in Naples on Feb. 9, 2024, was released Thursday afternoon. It pins the probable cause of the crash on corrosion in both engines that led to lost of thrust and the ensuing crash landing.

Naples Winter Wine Festival live auction nets record $33 million for at-risk, underprivileged children
The record-breaking live-auction day included the highest amount for a single live auction lot — $2.7 million for a seven-night Mediterranean cruise for six couples onboard the 312-foot superyacht M/Y Whisper, plus $1.4 million for a 2024 Rolls-Royce Spectre, the automaker’s inaugural all-electric vehicle and the only one to be auctioned off in the U.S. this year.

State health officials reported 1,707 new COVID-19 cases, Monday, bringing the statewide total to 756,727 cases. The Florida Department of Health also reported 54 new coronavirus related deaths, Oct. 19, increasing the statewide death toll to 16,222 fatalities.
