Players Circle Theater starts a new season with the comedy “Breaking Legs” in the company’s new theater space
Players Circle Theater kicks off the performance season with playwright Tom Dulack’s mafioso-style comedy “Breaking Legs.” The show will mark the company’s first production in its newly renovated theater space in the heart Fort Myers’ McGregor corridor. We preview the show and learn about the new theater space in a conversation with Players Circle Theater co-founders Bob Cacioppo and Carrie Lund.

'Normal is Overrated' reduces the stigma around youth mental health by having teens tell their stories
Earlier this month there was an event at Florida Southwestern State College called ‘Normal is Overrated.’ It's essentially an effort to remove the stigma of talking about mental and behavioral health issues among teens. We talk with one of the organizers, and three of the teens who told their stories at the event.

FSW deploys AI Gun Detection System that monitors camera feeds in real time
Florida Southwestern State College has deployed an “AI gun detection and intelligent situational awareness solutions” across its four campuses, using their existing camera systems. We talk with one of the founders of the company that makes the system, called ZeroEyes, as well as FSW’s Chief Operating Officer and its Chief of Police.

"Never Home: Remembering the Military Heroes Who Never Returned"
Veterans Day is a federal holiday honoring all U.S. military veterans who have served in the nation's armed forces. It was originally known as Armistice Day commemorating the end of World War I, which formally concluded 106 years ago today on Nov. 11, 1918. We meet a Gulf War Veteran-turned professional photographer who visited the overseas cemeteries where soldiers — and others — who served in World War I and World War II were laid to rest.

Former ACLU State Director speaking out about President Trump's 'Executive Overreach'
President Trump has signed 157 Executive orders since taking office in January. Many of them are well-within the authority of the President. But our guest is sounding the alarm about what he says are actions that exceed the authority given to the Executive Branch under the U.S. Constitution — powers meant to be shared with other branches of government, or that defy Supreme Court interpretations of what the law and the Constitution mean as historically understood.

The future of space exploration & missions to the Moon
The Apollo 11 lunar module, nicknamed "Eagle," landed on the Moon on July 20, 1969. Our guest today was part of the team that got it there. Ed Grace was a Principal Engineer at the MIT Instrumentation/Draper Laboratory. They designed the inertial navigation system and computer software used to control the Apollo command and lunar modules. Ed was in a backup mission control room when the Eagle landed.

FGCU ROCK of Ages initiative builds intergenerational bridges through visual storytelling
A group of FGCU students is working on a project focused on addressing the loneliness epidemic amongst our senior citizen and Gen Z populations, while promoting more kindness and compassion through storytelling. The ROCK of Ages initiative seeks to address social isolation amongst older people, and diminished in-person social skills amongst younger people, by pairing students with older people to share stories, on camera, to build bridges between generations and create transformative experiences that hopefully create ripple effects of social change.
