Art Center Sarasota's season-ending shows create a buzz
Executive Director Kathryn Ceaser is looking forward to the opening of Art Center Sarasota’s 100th season in October. But she cautions patrons not to miss the final shows of the current season. Ceaser predicts that two of those shows will create quite the buzz.

Shows May Have Uneven Return from Writer Strike
Striking screenwriters are considering a proposed contract that would end their 12-week-long strike and could be back at work by Wednesday. Half-hour comedies are expected to have fresh episodes faster than hourlong dramas. But some serialized shows might not come back until fall.

Florida drag shows win temporary victory in Supreme Court
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed the law to ban "children" from "adult live performances" that feature sexual conduct. While the law doesn't refer to drag shows, it is widely seen as aimed at them.
At least 1 person was killed in a shooting at an Arkansas car show
Twenty other people, including children, were wounded in the shooting, according to authorities. One person was taken into custody, though there may have been multiple shooters, the police chief said.
