COVID-19 Morning Update
State health officials reported 1,758 new cases of COVID-19, Monday, increasing the statewide total to 77,326 confirmed cases. That number is down slightly from the more than 2,000 new cases reported Sunday and the record setting 2,581 new cases reported Saturday.The Florida Department of Health also reported seven new coronavirus-related deaths, Monday, bringing the statewide death toll to 2,938 fatalities, including 1,546 deaths in long-term care facilities.

Widespread rain for Florida Friday and Saturday, local flooding and severe cells possible
A developing storm should produce multiple rounds of heavy rain over parts of Florida on Friday and Saturday. Localized flooding is expected over parts of South Florida. Severe thunderstorms are possible along the immediate Gulf Coast of Florida.
Eric Raddatz bringing full-dome films to Fort Myers Film Festival and Calusa Planetarium
Although they’ve been around for years, dome films are making a comeback. Known for cutting edge programming, the Fort Myers Film Festival is joining this trend. Director Eric Raddatz, has recently announced the Film Festival’s collaboration with Calusa Nature Center & Planetarium and is preparing to issue a call for dome film submissions.
