  • Laura first joined the KUT team in April 2012. She now works for the statewide program Texas Standard as a reporter and producer. Laura came to KUT from the world of television news. She has worn many different hats as an anchor, reporter and producer at TV stations in Austin, Amarillo and Toledo, OH. Laura is a proud graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia, a triathlete and enjoys travel, film and a good beer. She enjoys spending time with her husband and pets.
  • Jim Kent is originally from Brooklyn, N.Y. A freelance writer and radio journalist who currently lives in Hot Springs, South Dakota. Jim can be heard on a variety of radio programs including National Public Radio, South Dakota Public Radio, and National Native News Radio. He is also a columnist for the Rapid City Journal and a guest columnist for the Lakota Country Times.
  • Kaleigh Wright is a senior at Florida State University pursuing Studio Art, Film Studies, and English. Before her debut at WFSU, Kaleigh worked at Capitol News Service as a Production Assistant and Florida State University as Senior Photographer. Her ultimate goal post-college is to pursue a career in documentary film-making. When she is not behind the camera or in front of the microphone, you can find Kaleigh watching anything by Wes Anderson and drinking copious amounts of mocha frappuchinos.

  • Kate Carlton Greer is a general assignment reporter for KGOU. She covered Oklahoma's efforts in tornado response and recovery as part of KGOU's "Ahead of the Storm: The Oklahoma Tornado Project" from October 2013 through September 2014. Kate also served as the Community Calendar Producer from January to August in 2013. She grew up in Flower Mound, Texas, and studied broadcasting and electronic media at the University of Oklahoma.
  • Elaine is senior producer of news and public affairs at WLRN-Miami Herald News. She produces The Florida Roundup, a Friday news show, and works on building audience engagement around the issues we cover. Elaine moved from New York City, where she was a lawyer for the city government. She put aside the legal briefs and discovery requests to be back in public radio. Before WLRN, Elaine worked as a producer for public affairs shows at WNYC and WYPR.
  • Jake Ryan is reporter and producer at KVNF. He received his B.A. in Journalism from Western Illinois University. After serving with Americorps and volunteering for a community radio station in Maryland, he graduated from the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies. His pieces have been aired on Delmarva Public Radio, Maine Public Broadcasting Network, and New Hampshire Public Radio. He enjoys board games, trying new things, and flying kites.
  • Allie George is a St. Augustine native and current WJCT news intern. She has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Georgia Tech, has studied at the University of California Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism, and will continue her graduate studies in public health at the University of North Carolina in the fall. Allie is interested in the intersection of health and the environment, and hopes to learn how to more effectively engage the public in science journalism through radio and print.
