Florida Bar disciplinary case against Fort Myers lawyer continues
A case involving the issue of free speech in political contests started another chapter Thursday.The case involves a complaint filed in April 2020 by The Florida Bar against Fort Myers Attorney Christopher Crowley’s actions in 2018 while he was still a candidate for 20th Judicial Circuit State Attorney.

Victim of Ian's viciousness, Chapel by the Sea begins to be razed
One of the oldest places of worship on Fort Myers Beach, the Chapel by the Sea, damaged by Hurricane Ian beyond repair, began to be demolished Wednesday.Hurricane Ian brought in 11 feet of storm surge into the church and destroyed everything in its path. The surge washed through the sanctuary and the fellowship hall, known as Silver Hall, and the connecting patio.
Bob Rauschenberg Gallery closing in May for $14.5 million building renovation
Next year, Florida SouthWestern State College will undertake a $14.5 million renovation of its Humanities Building. For the ensuing 20 months, the Bob Rauschenberg Gallery will operate out of an annex in FSW's Rush Library building.

North Port OK's plans for link from Warm Mineral Springs to Legacy Trail, part of Florida Gulf Coast Trail
The North Port City Commission has given approval to an agreement with Kimley-Horn & Associates, Inc. for professional design and engineering services to develop construction plans and documents for a new trailhead and trail connection from Warm Mineral Springs Park to the North Port Connector of the Legacy Trail. The approval, on April 8, is for a 1.7-mile trail extension on the regional Sun Trail network, a component of the broader Florida Gulf Coast Trail. Once fully realized it will be one of the longest continuous trails (420 miles) in Florida traversing seven counties from Tampa to Naples.
