Naples New Year's Art Fair returns to Cambier Park January 4 and 5
Each year, Southwest Florida residents and visitors enjoy more than sixty outdoor art fairs and festivals. Among them is the Naples New Year’s Art Fair. It’s consistently ranked among the nation’s top fine art fairs by Sunshine Artist Magazine. It takes place in Cambier Park on Saturday and Sunday, January 4th and 5th.

Annual Tire Amnesty Day January 17; focus is on eradicating mosquito breeding opportunities
An unlikely hero is helping empty out garages for Annual Tire Amnesty Day. Lee County Mosquito Control, located off Homestead Road, will collect up to eight tires from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Jan 17. The effort is a collaboration with Lee County Solid Waste and the Rotary Club of Fort Myers East to clear neighborhoods of discarded tires.
Tax filing season currently open for some and begins for everyone else on January 26
There are actually two different opening days to this year’s tax filing season. For taxpayers whose adjusted gross income is $89,000 or less, IRS began accepting returns on January 9 filed under the IRS Free File program. For everyone else, the first day of tax filing season is Monday, January 26.

Additional funding was approved to aid Lee County residents impacted by the tornadoes on January 16.
$300,000 in grant funding from the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity was approved to aid Lee County residents who were impacted by the tornadoes on January 16th. The funding was approved Wednesday at the Lee County Board of County Commissioners meeting. The funding will go towards vendors who will help repair home damages from the tornadoes.
