Lee Commissioners accept ResilientLee Recovery and Resilience Plan
The Lee Board of County Commissioners voted Tuesday to accept the ResilientLee Recovery and Resilience Plan, a product of the Long-Term Recovery Task Force, which included more than 200 community members.In December 2022 – just months after devastating Hurricane Ian made landfall in Lee County – the Board approved the formation of Long-Term Task Force. Teams of community members organized in Branches synthesized months of community input, feedback, and analysis to create the ResilientLee Recovery and Resilience Plan.
Bracing for a frosty impact, North Florida starts to see snow and ice
Gov. Ron DeSantis on Tuesday cautioned about potentially record snow and dangerous road conditions as freezing temperatures were expected to sweep across northern Florida later Tuesday and Wednesday morning. By mid-day, snow was falling across the northwestern tier of the state with roadways in some areas such as Escambia County and Santa Rosa County becoming slick with the wet, white and freezing precipitation.
