Rain deluge does have an upside: Burn ban lifted for Lee County
A burn ban put into place by Lee County just a week ago has now been lifted due to rain.Lee County enacted the ban for unincorporated Lee County and municipalities due to increasingly dry conditions throughout Southwest Florida. The ban went into effect late Tuesday, June 4, when the drought index hit 600.
Commissioners commit to $500K loan for North Fort Myers affordable housing application
The Lee Board of County Commissioners voted to commit to a $500,000 dollar loan to support an application for a North Fort Myers affordable housing project Tuesday.Autumn Palm Lee, the company selected by the county for the project, is applying for funding through the Florida Housing Finance Corporation. The loan, which is from the Affordable Housing Trust Fund, will only be used if this application is accepted.
Caloosahatchee River Bridge construction update: project 103 days ahead of schedule
The Caloosahatchee River Bridge is two weeks into an expected multi-week construction project with eight weeks of closure remaining. Additionally, project managers said work accomplished in the past two weeks has advanced the project by 103 days.
