SalusCare crisis center closed while insurers quibble over fixing damages caused by Hurricane Ian
A behavioral healthcare facility damaged from Hurricane Ian is having problems getting insurance to covert damages, putting many of its services on hold. Hundreds of people that would have been admitted to the SalusCare crisis stabilization unit are now being sent to hospital emergency rooms or out of the county.

Dunbar vote-by-mail drop box added to improve voter access
A coalition of voter rights groups has successfully petitioned to add a new Secured Ballot Intake Station in the Dunbar community in Fort Myers. The new drop box will be accessible at the Dunbar-Jupiter Hammon Public Library in Fort Myers from 9 a.m. to 6 pm. Sunday, Nov. 6 and Monday Nov.7.

A disturbance in the Caribbean Sea that will be entering the Gulf of Mexico is prompting government officials to advise residents of the potential storm impacts they could face in the following days.
