Water main break on McGregor repaired; boil advisory continues
A water main break at McGregor Boulevard and San Roberto Circle affected 312 addresses in that area, Fort Myers utility officials said Thursday. The break was repaired late Thursday night.
Repairs at Sanibel Island reverse osmosis plant prompt need for irrigation conservation
The Island Water Association on Sanibel has begun replacement of Hurricane Ian damaged infrastructure at the reverse osmosis facility and is asking residents to follow irrigation restrictions.The construction project will temporarily reduce the water utility’s treatment capacity, and has been timed to coincide with anticipated seasonal rains and off-peak residential water demands.
Ex-U.S. Customs officer pleads guilty in cash thefts from Naples Airport international passengers
An Ave Maria man who formerly served as a U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer at the Naples Airport plead guilty Tuesday to stealing cash from international passengers.William Joseph Timothy, 43, faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in federal prison. A sentencing date has not yet been set.
Online, in-person meetings set for Daniels Parkway Interchange plan
The Florida Department of Transportation will host online and in-person outreach meetings June 25 and 27 for public viewing and input on the Daniels Parkway Interchange Improvement Project in Lee County.

The burn ban on unregulated outdoor fires activated in Hendry County has been lifted effective Monday.Bans remain in effect in Charlotte and Collier counties until an official rescission is made by the authorizing body.

The League of Women Voters chapters of Lee County and Sanibel are hosting forums for candidates to share their views on key issues.
