Ninety-six SWFL schools get $13M via School Recognition Program
The funds, more than $200 million through the School Recognition Program, will go to 1,400 schools across the state that demonstrated student growth and teaching excellence in the 2021-22 school year. To be eligible, schools must receive a school grade of “A” or improve at least one letter grade from the prior year.

Bradenton man who led Jan. 6 breach of line that collapsed D.C. police perimeter pleads guilty
Daniel Lyons Scott, 29, of Bradenton, plead guilty to obstruction of an official proceeding and aiding and abetting, and assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers. U.S. District Court Judge Royce C. Lamberth scheduled a sentencing hearing for May 23.
