New $90M Big Carlos Pass Bridge project starts with groundbreaking
The bridge replacement project got its start in 2017 with a Lee County Department of Transportation Development & Environment Study to evaluate alternatives for bridge improvements or replacement.
City of Sanibel gets $13.1M via Emergency Bridge Loan Program
A $13.1 million bridge loan has been awarded to the City of Sanibel through the Local Government Emergency Bridge Loan Program. The program is administered by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity to support government operations that may have been impacted by hurricanes Ian or Nicole. These funds bridge the gap for local governments while their revenues recover after a natural disaster.
Judges for Twentieth Circuit among four appointments made
Four judicial appointments were announced Monday including two in the Twentieth Judicial Circuit covering Southwest Florida.Appointments were also made to the Seventh Judicial Circuit Court and one to the Putnam County Court.
$100 Million goes to impacted communities via Hurricane Stormwater and Wastewater Assistance Grant Program
Lee, Collier, and Charlotte counties will share in $100 million in funding with 14 other counties that operate a storm water or wastewater management system that were impacted by Hurricane Ian or Hurricane Nicole.
